Award winning multi talented hitmaker, D’Tunes is one of the prolific producers that has ever graced the music scene.

His enviable relationship with music star, Iyanya resulted into several monstrous hits that birth a new phase in the career of the duo. However, after a period of working relationship, Iyanya and D’Tunes parted ways.

In this chat with E-RAVE, D’Tunes bears his mind on the music industry and what actually transpired between him and Iyanya.  Read excerpts below.

As a label executive and still actively involved in music production. How do you joggle both demands?

It is highly demanding but I try as much as possible to create time for everything. I ensure I don’t get tied up with one and that way, I have been able to satisfy both ends.

You have worked with a large number of artistes in the music scene, who would you point to as the most challenging act to work with?

Difficulties comes with the job since music is inspiration driven. Sometimes it flows and sometimes nothing flows, so I don’t force it. I just let whoever is involved in it have fun and create an enabling environment to ease the situation for the artiste involved.

You worked with music star, Iyanya and gave him the required buzz through your quality productions, how would you describe the experience of working with him?

It was fun working with Iyanya because we had a very good connection. Our relationship brought several hits that many people would still listen to and pay respect to the individuals involved.

There was an alleged report that your relationship with him turned sour due to the level of success he achieved. What actually went wrong?

Myself and Iyanya are cool. We parted ways because I just wanted to do something different and I decided to start my own thing. There are no ill feelings  in what transpired between us.

Was leaving Iyanya for a little known Sean Tizzle back then the best decision you ever took?

Sean Tizzle has been my song writer for 5 years. It was the best decision I took 5 years ago and I have never regretted doing such.
