Kemi Egbukole, 36, faces criminal charges for pouring boiling water on 16 year old house help, hope david, for waking up late. The police said Egbukole would bd charged after investigations are cincluded.
The mother of two is being investigated for child abuse and human trafficking offences by the police, national human rights commission, NHRC, and National Angency for prohibition of trafficking in person, NAPTIP.

The duputy director, protection and investigation, NHRC, mr. Oparah, said the commission suspected hope was trafficked to abuja. He qouted Egbukole as saying that the girl was handed over to her by a pastor who usually supplies girls to abuja from nasarawa state.
The spokes man of the NAPTIP, joshua Emerole said Hope would remain with the agency until the end of investigation. According to Emerole, Egbukole will face other charges including the voilation of the voilent against person prohibition act 2015.
